Power Automate Engineer – Consumer Online Entertainment Business – 2 month contract (Outside IR35) – Hybrid (Covent Garden)

Introduction

Our client is one of the world’s largest entertainment groups. Its UK ticketing operations team needs an experienced automation engineer for an initial two-month contract to speed up ticketing configuration. This is a hands-on delivery role. The task list is already defined, and the brief is to get through it quickly using the team’s existing Microsoft Power Automate setup. There is no scoping or tech-stack design involved. You will need to hit the ground running.

Location and working pattern

[TBC – e.g. hybrid, with time at the client’s office in Surrey or London.]

Key role details

  • Work through a defined list of automation tasks on the client’s existing ticketing system.
  • Build and improve Power Automate flows to cut out manual, error-prone configuration work.
  • Write the scripts that sit alongside the flows (JavaScript-based).
  • Work with the in-house automation specialist, adding delivery capacity and a fresh, external perspective.
  • Take a test-and-learn approach. Ship quickly, measure the value, and move on from what doesn’t work.
  • Work within the current toolset. This is a short-term delivery push, not a strategy or re-platforming project.
  • Initial two-month contract, running to around Christmas, with an immediate start.

Experience and competencies required

  • Proven, hands-on commercial experience building Microsoft Power Automate flows. You must be productive from day one.
  • Strong scripting skills in JavaScript. Office Scripts or TypeScript is a plus.
  • Experience automating operational or configuration processes in a business system, ideally ticketing, booking, e-commerce or another high-volume transactional platform.
  • A delivery-first engineer who gets things done, is comfortable with a quick-and-dirty approach, and is happy to execute rather than redesign.
  • Confident working independently with minimal onboarding and giving honest, direct feedback.
  • Experience in live entertainment, events or ticketing is desirable but not essential.
  • Available to start immediately.

This role is unlikely to suit product managers, project managers or architects looking for a scoping or strategy brief.
