Product Manager – Health Tech Pharmacy Platform | £60,000–£75,000 + bonus | Hybrid (4 days in office, London)

Introduction

Our client is a fast-growing, privately owned specialist pharmacy that works with private doctors and clinics across the UK. It makes high-quality specialist prescription medicines, and it is growing quickly in a busy market. The whole operation runs on a proprietary platform covering prescribing, patient repeats, pharmacy and lab workflows, stock, finance and dispatch. The platform is now being rebuilt from the ground up. As the business’s dedicated Product Manager, you will take ownership of that platform from the founder and lead it through the rebuild, while AI and automation change how the company works week by week.

Location

Hybrid. Based at the head office in central London, four days a week with one day from home, plus occasional visits to a second site in Essex.

Key Role Details

  • Own the product roadmap and backlog for the company’s bespoke pharmacy platform, an ERP-style system with clinician, patient and pharmacy interfaces.
  • Lead the next-generation rebuild with an outsourced development team, running fortnightly sprints and deciding what goes into each one.
  • Learn the pharmacy, laboratory and dispatch processes in depth, so every requirement is fully specified before it reaches the developers.
  • Challenge and prioritise requests from across the business, with a clear grasp of the compliance and governance rules that apply in a regulated pharmacy.
  • Manage a growing set of APIs and integrations with clinical, finance and logistics systems.
  • Stay hands-on when needed, including system configuration and admin.
  • Own the wider internal systems estate (HR, customer service and telephony) and manage the outsourced IT support provider, covering triage, renewals and value for money.
  • Support Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
  • Spot opportunities to use AI and automation to make operations run better, working alongside the company’s AI transformation lead.
  • Report directly to the founder, as the business’s sole product owner.

Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager, owning a platform end to end.
  • Health tech experience in a regulated setting, ideally online pharmacy, private clinics, telehealth, e-prescribing or patient management systems (as an in-house or vendor-side PM).
  • Experience with complex internal or operational platforms (ERP, workflow, order management or similar) and the integrations around them.
  • Strong at writing specifications and backlogs, and comfortable leading agile sprints with an external development team.
  • An analytical systems thinker who works problems out, brings proposals and pushes back on stakeholders with clear reasons.
  • Self-directed and used to working in a small or medium business, where you own the outcome and get your hands dirty.
  • Genuinely interested in AI and automation and how they can change operations.
  • Experience managing third-party IT suppliers or Cyber Essentials is a bonus.
  • Able to work from central London four days a week.

This role is unlikely to suit candidates who want a large product team around them or an equity-backed scale-up environment.
