We’re searching for a VP Product / Product Director for a scaling marketplace business (B2B and B2C) with a strong presence in the UK and US and a broad offering that includes training, compliance, scheduling and payments.
They’re well-funded and have grown organically and rapidly through acquisitions. This role involves leading and upskilling a product team of 4, taking ownership of the product strategy, embedding the most relevant product practices, and managing a broad range of relationships across technology and regional commercial areas.
This is a role that will be office based initially during onboarding (South London) and then hybrid-based with 3-4 days per week in the office.
The VP Product / Product Director will:
- Reporting to the CEO, take full ownership of the core platform and product set across the UK and US, shaping the product strategy in alignment with overall business strategy, understanding customer groups and the competitive landscape, making informed decisions backed by data where possible.
- Help the product team become more proactive, taking ownership of roadmap decision making in alignment with the product strategy, understanding trade-offs and impact on the business and customers.
- Lead and develop a product team of 4, helping them to prioritise and deliver a roadmap of value creating product initiatives.
- Manage a broad range of stakeholder relationships at all levels, in a pressurised sales environment as the business continues to scale.
Candidates for the VP Product / Product Director role must have :
- Strong full lifecycle product leadership experience, including some experience with a marketplace business. This could include price comparison, services, staffing, proptech, edtech, etc.
- Candidates may also have worked for a B2B SAAS or consumer business. Any experience of payments, onboarding journey, identity verification, compliance or scheduling is an advantage.
- Strong experience shaping product strategy and comfortable being very hands-on with a small product team.
- Very strong experience manging a range of stakeholder relationships including commercial leaders, with ability to articulate reasoning behind product, prioritisation and business case decisions.
- Strong comfort with data-based decision making and also comfort with ambiguity and measured risk taking.
