Working for a much-loved D2C subscription and eCommerce specialist pet product brand, the Web Merchandiser / Digital Merchandiser / eCommerce Merchandiser role involves enhancing the visual appeal and sales performance of the digital channel, across web and mobile.

The business has a leading market position in their category, and have recently secured significant funding from a large parent investor, to develop & launch new products and drive growth to new customers in the UK and then overseas.

This is a 6 month contract and is INSIDE IR35. It is a hybrid/London role with 2 days per month (not per week) in their London offices, or more if preferred.

The Web Merchandiser / Digital Merchandiser / eCommerce Merchandiser will:
– Lead daily site trading activities to ensure maximum product visibility and sales performance
– Manage homepage and landing page content in alignment with current promotions, seasonality, and stock availability
– Liaise with the wider business regarding stock levels, product introductions, and discontinuations.
– Analyse sales data, traffic, and search metrics to inform merchandising decisions.
– Monitor, analyse, and report on-site KPIs, including traffic, conversion rate, average order value, and bounce rate.
– Provide insights to stakeholders on customer behaviour, and potential areas for improvement or opportunity.
– Manage the uploading, maintenance, and optimisation of all product listings, ensuring accuracy and consistency in product data, imagery, and copy.
– Work closely with the copywriting and graphic design teams to ensure content is engaging, SEO-optimised, and consistent with brand guidelines.
– Periodically review and update static content pages such as FAQs, ‘About Us’, and delivery information.
– Manage homepage and landing page content aligned with promotions, seasonality, and marketing/trading calendar.
– Plan internal display banners and communication into all strategic places on the website to improve the customer journey (e.g. blog, banners, chat functionality).
– Own other merchandising opportunities, e.g. Salesfire tool, to maximise customer experience and relevant touchpoints.
– Work with the SEO lead to optimise all product listings, content pages, and meta information for search.
– Collaborate with the CRO team on implementing site modifications and A/B tests to enhance the user experience and conversion rate.
– Monitor and reporting back insights experience analytics platforms, e.g. Hotjar. Use it to track the performance of the site/content changes to see if it has delivered on the expected user journey.

Candidates for the Web Merchandiser / Digital Merchandiser / eCommerce Merchandiser role must have:
– Strong experience in a web merchandising role, across any product category (fashion, luxury, personal care, homeware, white goods, jewellery, automotive, home and garden, marketplaces, etc)
– Good understanding of SEO principals
– Good analytical skills
– Any experience of HotJar, Salesfire or Salesforce Commerce Cloud is an advantage but not essential.
