Working for a global sports data and insight business that provides specialist real time data across all aspects of global sporting events, the Senior API Product Manager / Senior Data Product Owner role involves making sense of specialist data feeds and building API’s to deliver data to customer segments.
The Senior API Product Manager / Senior Data Product Owner is an exciting role at the heart of sporting analysis across all major sporting events (golf, Tennis, Football, Cricket, Basketball, etc).
The company is a global business and a leader in the sports data space, with very strong customer relationships.
The role will be part remote with some time at the London offices.
The Senior API Product Manager / Senior Data Product Owner will:
– Be a key contributor in the development of the master product plan for Sports Data
– Be the owner of key relationship with Sports Federation development teams and internal Data Product deliveries
– Own the delivery requirements and document user stories, working with the development teams to ensure they focus on the most impactful work, that the solution aligns to the requirements and that value is continually delivered
– Provide detailed Data API feature specifications to ensure successful delivery
– Unblock day to day product feature issues and mitigate risks
– Maintain strong working relationships with internal sales, business operations and technology teams
– Produce timely and accurate reporting and documentation as required
Candidates for the Senior API Product Manager / Senior Data Product Owner role must have:
– Previous technical, data, platform or back-end product management experience
– Some experience building API products
– Any experience of sports data (eg from a publishing or gaming brand) or an interest in sports is an advantage, but is not essential
– Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies (such as SCRUM or Kanban)
– Forensic attention to detail and process management
– Able to solve both simple and complex problems in a measured and creative way
– Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and motivate others
– Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple teams and at varying levels throughout the business
– Candidates may possibly come from a development background, but this is not essential.
