Working for a global FMCG manufacturer, the Interim Category Manager / Senior Retail Data Analyst / Retail Data Account Manager role involves analysing category performance data and developing strategies across ranging, positioning and POS to drive product sales for individual retail partners.

 

The role involves both hands on analytical work and is also customer facing, working as a trusted advisor to drive retail sales performance.

 

This is a 9-month hybrid contract role and is OUTSIDE IR35, with 2 days per week in West London, the rest remote.

 

The Interim Category Manager / Senior Retail Data Analyst / Retail Data Account Manager will:

  • Act as the internal expert on shopper behaviour and Shopper-Based Design (SBD), including Fixture and Store Wide Strategy (SWS).
  • Own the sourcing, analysis, and reporting of data both internally and externally, including Market trends and EPOS data reporting and Shopper trend analysis using Kantar or similar sources.
  • Lead end-to-end Range Review process, including:
    • tailored recommendations based on shopper and market data, customer-specific briefs, and commercial opportunity (e.g. size of prize, share of space, sales fundamentals)
    • internal and external stakeholder engagement; planogram recommendations and builds, including space and fixture design and ongoing equipment maintenance
    • post-implementation analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage external partners and suppliers including data providers.
  • Turn data into compelling stories and strategic action.
  • Develop commercially driven recommendations that land powerfully with both internal teams and external customers.

 

Candidates for the Interim Category Manager / Senior Retail Data Analyst / Retail Data Account Manager role must have:

  • Prior experience as an FMCG category manager, retail analyst, or with a consumer insight and data provider in an analytical role.
  • Experience working with FMCG products – food, personal care, cosmetics, household goods, etc.
  • Ideally experience in a customer or partner facing role, or strong comfort engaging with and presenting to customers.
  • Ideally experience of Circana, Nielsen and Kantar data
  • Advanced Excel
