VP Product / Executive Vice President Product needed by global consumer platform that has in excess of 50M users and receives over 2M daily visits; a heritage brand, our client are a market leader within the provision of academic research, content and news, including books, journals, papers and reference works.
The VP Product / Executive Vice President Product will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for all consumer platforms across a variety of brands, the key focus being to drive user engagement via search, discovery, access, localisation & recommendation. Key to this will be understanding how AI is changing and impacting consumer behaviour – in the context of the business increasingly moving from a subscription based to an Open Access model – and ensuring that the platforms adapt to these.
The VP Product / Executive Vice President Product will:
·Own the direction and performance of the consumer platforms worldwide
·Own the strategy, vision, and execution for the overall consumer experience
·Ensure that every consumer encounter is fast, intuitive, secure, and personalised
·Be responsible and accountable for content protection, integrity and authentication
·Oversee the whole platform experience, from search and browse to engagement and related recommendation
·Embrace the use of AI to adapt to changing consumer behaviour
·Lead a global team of 15 – 20 product managers
The VP Product / Executive Vice President Product must have:
·Proven success as a product leader managing large-scale, global, content-driven platforms with millions of users
·The ability to successfully navigate a large, complex matrix organisation and present at Board level
·Experience working successfully with a matrix delivery team
·Worked in a truly global role; experience developing emerging markets such as India and China would be highly advantageous
·A deep understanding of how consumers find and digest digital content, coupled with a strong awareness of how AI is enhancing and changing this behaviour
·Built, mentored and managed high performance product teams
