We’re searching for a Chief Operating Officer / Chief Commercial Officer to join a revolutionary DBaas startup. They’ve pioneered a smart database system designed to handle very complex and interconnected data. This makes it easier for developers to build applications that require advanced data management. Instead of using multiple types of databases, they combine the best features of all into one, making data handling simpler and more efficient. This means even the most complex and interconnected datasets can be managed with ease.

They have developed a new and innovative type of database designed to meet the current needs and challenges of modern software development. They successfully launched their DBaaS several months ago, attracting 500+ active users waiting to be monetised. They’ve secured £12m in seed funding so far.

You will be the first commercial hire, joining a team of 11 people (most engineers) based in London. You must be happy to relocate to New York permanently in the next 3-6 months.

The Chief Operating Officer / Chief Commercial Officer will:

  • Driving Company Growth: Leading the company’s expansion efforts by focusing on product development, marketing, and sales.

  • Entrepreneurial Leadership: Bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to drive innovation and take ownership of the company’s success.
  • Enhancing Company Culture: Contributing to a collaborative culture that values purpose, simplicity, and continuous improvement.
  • Targeting the U.S. Market: Utilizing expertise in the U.S. technology industry to tailor marketing and sales efforts for the primary target market.

The Chief Operating Officer / Chief Commercial Officer must have:

  • 10+ years of experience in technical operations roles
  • 4+ years of experience as a tech founder
  • Proven COO experience with a focus on product, marketing, sales, and operations
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from a prestigious university, *especially* in computer science or software engineering
  • Experience working with open-source developer communities is ideal
