Working for an early-stage AI software business, the Growth Lead / Growth Marketing Lead / Demand Generation Lead will own growth, demand generation, positioning and go-to-market activity for a company building AI automation technology for a traditional B2B market.
The business is developing AI-enabled software that helps organisations automate operational workflows, improve customer responsiveness and reduce manual workload across busy, service-led environments. The company is at an early commercial stage, with a strong founding team, ambitious growth plans and increasing investment into sales, marketing and go-to-market activity.
This is a founding growth hire within a fast-moving startup environment. The Growth Lead / Growth Marketing Lead / Demand Generation Lead will work closely with the founders, sales and customer-facing teams to define the company’s positioning, build demand from the ground up and create a repeatable engine for qualified demos and pipeline.
This is a hands-on, build-from-scratch role for a high-agency growth marketer who enjoys early-stage environments, moves quickly and wants to create the playbook rather than inherit one. The Growth Lead / Growth Marketing Lead / Demand Generation Lead will own messaging, demand generation, content, paid and organic channels, founder-led activity, events, campaign reporting and funnel performance.
This role is based in London on a primarily office-based basis, with 4 days a week in the office.
Candidates must be based in the UK, and have full right to work without sponsorship.
The Growth Lead / Growth Marketing Lead / Demand Generation Lead will:
- Set and refine the positioning, messaging and narrative that makes a busy, sceptical B2B buyer engage with the product
- Build the demand generation engine from the ground up across content, events, organic activity, founder-led growth, paid social and other scalable channels
- Own the funnel from first touch through to qualified demo, ensuring sales has a consistent flow of relevant opportunities to work
- Speak directly with customers, sit on sales calls and turn customer insight into sharper messaging, campaigns and commercial activity
- Create and test campaigns that generate demand in a market where buyers are time-poor, non-technical and cautious about overhyped AI products
- Develop high-quality content, landing pages, sales collateral, email campaigns and campaign assets that clearly communicate the product’s value
- Work closely with the founders to support founder-led growth, thought leadership, market education and category creation
- Measure every channel and campaign, understanding what is working, why it is working and what needs to change
- Test, optimise and scale paid campaigns, organic activity, outbound-supporting marketing and event-led demand generation
- Support event and conference activity, from messaging and promotion through to follow-up and pipeline tracking
- Work closely with sales and customer success to improve conversion, feedback loops, handover quality and pipeline generation
- Use AI tools, LLMs and automation to improve marketing execution, workflow efficiency and campaign quality
- Build the early growth playbook, then help hire and develop a small team once the motion is working
- Bring pace, ownership, curiosity and commercial focus to a fast-moving startup environment
Candidates for the Growth Lead / Growth Marketing Lead / Demand Generation Lead role must have:
- Experience in growth marketing, demand generation or early-stage B2B marketing, ideally within a startup or scale-up environment
- A track record of building demand from a low or near-zero base, rather than only optimising an existing mature funnel
- Experience marketing to B2B, SMB, vertical SaaS or non-technical buyers
- Strong understanding of how positioning, messaging and customer insight translate into qualified demos, pipeline and revenue
- Hands-on experience across multiple growth channels, including content, email, paid social, organic, events, founder-led growth or campaign marketing
- The ability to write, build, launch, measure and optimise campaigns directly, rather than relying heavily on agencies or external vendors
- A commercial mindset and clear understanding of how marketing activity supports sales outcomes
- Experience working closely with founders, sales teams, customer success or product teams in a fast-moving environment
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to turn complex or technical products into clear, compelling commercial messaging
- A proactive, self-directed and high-agency approach, with the ability to operate without a finished playbook
- Comfort working in an early-stage startup where priorities can move quickly and structure is still being built
- A genuine interest in AI, with hands-on experience using LLMs, AI tools, workflow automation, Custom GPTs, agents or similar tools in day-to-day work
- A strong academic background, ideally from a leading university or equivalent
