Working for one of the world's largest multi-category retailers, the UK Marketing Director / Head of Online Marketing / VP Marketing (Online Retail, eCommerce) role involves leading a direct and indirect team to drive growth, customer acquisition, relationship marketing and all in country online and some offline activity (campaigns, email marketing, onsite marketing, mobile, social media, PR, print, TV, etc).
The UK Marketing Director / Head of Online Marketing / VP Marketing (Online Retail, eCommerce) will:
-Develop UK marketing plans and execute via the team - develop, own and execute the marketing strategy that will deliver the UK business goals, will accountability for specific marketing goals.
-Lead a direct team of +10 people, and a strategic marketing budget of approximately $30m.
-Own local media plans and execution of the UK marketing activities.
-Help identifying the most important customer segments in partnership with the central analytic team.
-Develop content for most of the on-line, email and social campaigns, with local team and agencies, ensuring creative consistency to brand guidelines. Examples of these campaigns include vertical comms, retail & seasonal events as well as any other area that may be needed to achieve UK-specific business goals.
-Local adaptation of European campaigns, mostly off-line horizontal and vertical TV/Print campaigns.
-Coordinate the UK Strategic Internet Marketing and Consumer PR activities in partnership with the respective teams (both will report dotted into the UK marketing director).
-Plan both the local marketing activities and the level of support needed from the central teams for shared resources, in particular on trafficking and execution (in coordination with the central planning team).
-Develop the marketing organization in UK and EU (in partnership with the EU marketing team); manage a team of +10 people, including +5 directs and dotted reports.
-Hiring, training and retention of a talented team of marketers, skilled in online marketing - email, database, internet marketing, social content, and customer segmentation.
-Provide input to local business teams, as well as central marketing teams, on areas such as business strategy, evolution of marketing best practices, development of new marketing capabilities, merchandising roadmaps, technology platforms, and the right balance of local, regional and global resources

Candidates for the UK Marketing Director / Head of Online Marketing / VP Marketing (Online Retail, eCommerce) role must have:
-Very strong marketing leadership experience in a retail or eCommerce environment.
-Strong online/digital marketing experience.
-Experience of the whole customer lifecycle, including customer acquisition, retention and relationship marketing.
-Strong experience navigating a large matrix organisation, managing stakeholder relationships and influencing at all levels, particularly executive level.
-Experience and comfort in a highly analytical and metric/data driven mass consumer environment.
-Any experience of offline marketing is an advantage.
-Strong academics including a good degree and MBA, or equivalent experience.
