Career Progression and Training

We love promoting our employees, giving them more responsibility and higher earning potential.  For that reason, we’ve developed an organisational structure that enables advancement as soon as you’re ready, whether to become a more senior sales person or take on people management responsibility.  The only limiting factor is your ambition and desire to succeed!

We’re also committed to training and recognise the value training gives to employee development.  In addition to your own mentor to coach you, you’ll have a structured on-boarding process that spans the first 13 weeks, supplemented with regular external training.  We also understand what a big step your first people management role is and support consultants who move into sales management for the first time with a two day external management training course.

Environment and Culture

Intelligent People's OfficeIt’s really important to us that the working environment is safe, comfortable, enjoyable and supports you and your work.  Our offices are ultra modern and fully air conditioned; we have brand new furniture and a break-out area so that you can relax on the sofa when you take a break from your desk.  We have kitchen facilities with fridge space, a toaster and microwave for your convenience.  And there’s always plenty of tea and coffee being made, so if you make sure you’re included in the round you’ll rarely have an empty cup on your desk! We encourage a friendly, respectful and professional environment.  Some of the consultants enjoy a regular drink after work and others shoot home to family or other commitments, such as the golf course!  We’re a mixed bag but everyone fits in somewhere.

Local Information

St AlbansSt Albans is a wonderful place and you should move here immediately! Although we’re clearly pretty biased, St Albans wasn’t voted to take the place of Mayfair on the “Here and Now UK Edition” of Monopoly for nothing.

St Albans has everything going for it.  Located 22 miles from central London, 20 minutes by express train from St Pancras International, 30 minutes from Luton and Heathrow airports and next to the M25 and M1 the town benefits from excellent transport links.  An ancient Roman town with beautiful historic buildings, architecture, parks and conservation areas, the city has plenty to see and do all year round.  There’s a thriving arts community and theatre company; St Albans arena is a fixed stop on the tour circuit for bands and comedians and with so many friendly pubs, bars, cafés and restaurants in the town, you’ll never get bored eating and drinking out.  Add to that the great schools and low crime rates and you start to get a picture of the ideal place to live and work!

Diversity Statement

We take diversity very seriously and the following is an extract from our employee handbook:

“Intelligent People support the principle of equal opportunities and opposes discrimination on the grounds of age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, race, ethnic origin, religious belief or disability.  Being a committed equal opportunities employer, the Company will take every possible step to ensure that employees are treated equally and fairly in respect of these matters.  All policies and practices will conform to the principle of equal opportunities in terms of recruitment, selection, training, promotion, career development, discipline, redundancy and dismissal.”
